I guess you don't take control over the original cast. Maybe there is a create a Ghostbuster option. Maybe all the Rick Moranis part will be there too, kinda like old wrestlers in WCW vs. NWO.

Re: CG Rick Moranis Please. I think the whole memory thing kinda ruined it a bit for me. For some reason I have a bad feeling that AC2 will just be AC1, with some added gimmicks.

Re: Assassin’s Creed

Assuming Ubisoft will make corrections to all of the complaints about AC1, AC2 is going to rule.

Re: Control Issues

Dan, have you ever played The Indigo Prophesy? I can't believe I forgot that game initially, when you asked this question. Easily one of the best games I've ever played. If you have not played it, I really recommend it. You tell me what you think about the control aspect.

Re: Dead Space

I'm through chapter 4. Lots of opening and closing doors. I see what you mean, very repetitive. I like it though it's still a bad ass game. I'm on the asteroid blaster right now and it's really pissing me off. I really wish the dude would work faster while I'm being obliterated by asteroids.

Re: Discus

I work at a company where people play video games for a living and we really like disqus. Any 3D Mario has fantastic control. From N64 to the Wii, all have been great. Any more for the list?

Re: Control Issues

I want to say Super Mario 64 is a good candidate. Compare it to any of the Jak series on PS2 and you'll see how superior it was. Too bad that was 1995.

Re: Control Issues

I still like the original Metal Gear when the guards fall asleep and they say "I'm getting sleepy ... I feel asleep ... zzzzzzzz"

How does one "feel asleep"? I'm still trying to figure that one out.

OK so I always liked the Tomb Raider games. Tomb Raider Legend was pretty good and the controls didn't bother me, although I'm pretty sure you'd deem it "unacceptable" too. I don't think there is a game that has it perfected.

Re: Dead Space

Well I think it's safe to say they will never bring the titties into play in a video game. Oh well. I just like to throw in a good "show me your titties" Dave Chapelle style, when I can.

I'm sure I will hate the end of the game as pretty much all game endings leave a lot to be desired nowadays. If you know a game that has a great storyline and ending you should tell me ... or make a post about it. That would be cool.

Re: Dead Space

If the titties came out to play, it would bring some excitement to the plot. Everything is just so generic. It's kinda like an Alien plus Starship Troopers rip off. Sounds like it *could* make an awesome game, but I don't think that it was pulled off.

The love story would not have annoyed be so much if it was done differently. They introduce it, then never mention it ever again until the end of the game. By that time I had forgotten about it and really did not care. Tell what you think of the love story after you finish the game. Dialogue is terrible.

Re: Dead Space

I agree about the control ... it's hard. You have no idea that something is behind you other than you hear it bashing your brains out. And yeah ... your own head gets in the way of your view sometimes. I didn't play long enough to see the repetition but I get your drift. Oh and I didn't finish reading your last paragraph so I avoided the spoiler.

I will say that I don't mind the love story ... just as long as the girlfriend SHOWS ME HER TITTIES!!!!! haha

Good review man. I give it 5 Twinkles.

Re: Achievements Piss Me Off

While the actual achievements do piss me off, it is the effect that that they have on the gaming community that really gets me. There are people out there who really care about achievements. It's a big thing for them, and they take them very seriously. People like this tend to bring a really negative aspect to games, especially games that use XBL. They interrupt good games and screw up competitive matches by trying to get achievements. The individual goals that achievements are do not correlate well in a social setting like XBL. I think there needs to be some type of achievement screening process when games being developed. I'll do it for free.

Re: Discus

Thanks for checking us out. Yeah, we are really liking it thus far. The CSS is coming along and is almost there. The grey text is pretty much the only real issue that we are having. The style gets picked up when the page loads, but changes to grey when you click in the text field. Rather annoying. Any idea? I think I'll have to get some help over at the forums.

Re: Discus

Great to see this comment system taking off and like the cool background images in your blog design. Despite my relatively high gamerscore of 28,670, most of is was done through straight gameplay. I'm definitely a fan of fun over challenge. When achievements make games so frustratingly not fun, it's time to put in another game. Mindless collecting, is one of my biggest pet peeves. Assassin's Creed is a perfect example. I have every achievement in that game other than the flag collection achievements, which are lengthy, thorough explorations of every corner and alley of every province in the game. Even with an online guide, which you should never give in to doing for this anyway, it is entirely too time consuming for no reward. GTA IV's pigeon collecting is on the same level. Fable II, however, has a collection of sorts in the form of shooting Gargoyle statutes on structures and buildings. Ya know, Gothic architecture-style. Anyway, you don't have to stray off the beaten path and can accomplish this while on your main quest. There is also in game rewards for doing so. This sort of collection I can deal with.

On another note, what has 28.670 achievement points given me? Free XBOX Live downloads, Microsoft Points, a friggin' keychain? No. I can brag about nothing to my friends who don't care in the first place.

Before I owned my 360 I was told about the achievements process and thought it was great. It made me want the system more because I thought, in the end, something might come of it. 3 years later I have all these points and nothing to show for it. Don't get me wrong, I like hearing the sound of an achievement popping up on the screen and I DO try to get what I can out of the particular game I'm playing, however contrary to popular belief I am not an achievement whore and I end a game when it's no longer any fun.

Re: The Combobreaker Podcast Has A New Home

Get to work!
