I can't believe I forgot that game initially, when you asked this question. Easily one of the best games I've ever played. If you have not played it, I really recommend it. You tell me what you think about the control aspect.

Re: Control Issues

Can't disagree with that. Any 3D Mario has fantastic control. From N64 to the Wii, all have been great. Any more for the list?

Re: Control Issues

I want to say Super Mario 64 is a good candidate. Compare it to any of the Jak series on PS2 and you'll see how superior it was. Too bad that was 1995.

Re: Control Issues

I still like the original Metal Gear when the guards fall asleep and they say "I'm getting sleepy ... I feel asleep ... zzzzzzzz"

How does one "feel asleep"? I'm still trying to figure that one out.

OK so I always liked the Tomb Raider games. Tomb Raider Legend was pretty good and the controls didn't bother me, although I'm pretty sure you'd deem it "unacceptable" too. I don't think there is a game that has it perfected.
